What has happened to aberdeen student torcher? I remember days of costumed students in school through the week, banging the car windows in town through the day and a spectacular bustle of people, floats and shaked buckets at night.

Now we get 3 balloons tied to an arctic lorry with some students on the back waiting to get to the pub!!!

Oh and two lassies fighting and getting lifted at Bon accord street!

Maybe just getting old???

First daffodils have now appeared in the garden and we still have daylight till after 8.30.

Just need some more heat in the air and it'll be nice enough to start sitting outside.

Local spring holiday Monday and the weather wasn't too bad. Managed to give the cars a small spring clean inside and out.

Nice and shiny in the evening light, when the sun isn't as strong as to highlight every mark on the black paintwork!!

You'd like to have a birdie and love to have an albatross, but a seagull on the golf course is taking the biscuit.

A decent drive saw my yellow ball sitting nicely in the middle of the fairway only for a seagull to swoop and pick it up. A few minutes of circling above and it looked like it was taking it home to nest, but no no, it's fun wasn't over.

A quick pirouette and like a typhoon bomber it was right above me dropping the ball towards my head, diving towards me and catching it again in mid air, while I started to move off quick smart. Fun over the ball was dropped back to earth to allow the game to continue.

I'll try and stick to birdies and albatrosses next time out!!!

A dull dreich day today with the rain only stopping for a few minutes at a time, but on the upside it's watering in the new laid turfs and saves getting the hose out.

Turfs slowly coming back to proper green colour and bedding in but not quite as level as old Trafford so will need some work over the summer to build up the level a bit!!

Will complete a good weekend of golf with a medal victory and 0.6 handicap cut yesterday.

Wasn't there in 2011 but was gifted a cap from a friend that was.

Send the wee man to football camp and the first team squad write all over his top. Hand wash each night and it'll be worn 5 days this week and then he wants it framed!!!!

Another day another gadget. Must be getting a bit OCD with cleaning gadgets though, but it does work wonders in leaving the windows streak free and makes the kids interested in helping to clean.

A productive day in the garden, the first kick start tidy up of the spring.

Trees trimmed, pampas grass removed and a general tidy up. Just the pile of waste to dispose of tomorrow and some turf to lay as extension to the boys football pitch.

Last view of Manchester before the 5-1/2 hour trek home. Been fun but there is nothing more desired than the comfort of your own bed. Somehow hotels are just not the same.
