First day of the new camera and kids have decided that they are camera shy, or that they will pull every possible face rather than smile to the camera.
Will catch them out yet!
In support (not competition) of my Dad's resolution to record the year and take more photographs, we're going for a photo a day in 2013. Here's my efforts, we'll see how long we last, or who fails first!

Present for the kids from our orcadian visitor yesterday. Good to catch up with old university friend, even though we had to admit it was almost 20 years since our first day there.
Now resisting the temptation to scoff the lot while the kids sleep!!

Grandpa is just like a member of the Royal Family, 2 birthdays a year.....or should that be the 'Royle Family'
Presents handed over, and unwrapped on his behalf by 2 small horrors, but he got his revenge!

Cotton wool is pretty versatile and a must for any female's bathroom.
Not quite what goes through a 3 year olds mind though. Gets put to bed only to get up, find a bit of cotton wool and stock it right up his nose causing it to bleed all over his face, and I mean right up to his eyeballs. Could only just see it to grab it with tweezers after a few nose blows. Thankfully avoided a trip to a&e.. Kids!!!

A trip to the station to collect the missus from a girlie night away provides today's inspiration.
Yesterday's aspirations of a good golf were close but not quite there it it wasn't a disaster. Always next week!

Productive Friday evening with the temperature up and clear skies till half 9.
Grass cut, cars washed and waxed and the sticks cleaned in preparation for another assault on the handicap in the morning. Here's hoping for cut number 4 of the season in 6th medal of the year. Single figures in reach but getting harder and harder the lower it gets!!

Too much temptation to stray from the healthy eating plan with piles of kids sweets in every cupboard....must resist.

Start of an expensive motoring week.
New rubber all round today. Whole new light cluster on order because of stupid led lights and you can't replace individual bulbs followed by a service and MOT on Wednesday.
One melted Amex card!!!

The remnants of the boys trip to the beach with grandma and grandpa 'on their hols' still occupy the outside table. Might need to find a new home for them in a few weeks time, but not today. More chance of them blowing away tonight!

Blue skies and the trees in bud make it look a beautiful evening but there a chill in the wind and this is forecast to be the calm before the storm.

Tools of the trade have changed a but over the years!!
Sliding scale rulers are a thing on the past with every millimetre now accounted for on the computer, but we still use a scale rule now and again!

Tuesday is beavers night. A bit like going back in time being in the tardis that is the old scout hut. Some of the same leaders, the same games of misers gold, port and starboard and dodgeball survive unaged!!
The itchy wooly jumpers are gone, replaced with comfy sweatshirts, but the arms of badges have survived!!

They take over your lives, but you can't question the simplicity and design.
Phones, tablets, laptops, iPods, media streamer. Only a matter of time before they have tv's and integrated house controls for everything!!

No sooner than I have I washed and dried 3 cars and put everything away and the heavens opened to clear the skies. Sunshine following the squal meant a lovely double rainbow.

An exciting Friday night in with a glass of red and the iron, but the sight of the bottom of the ironing basket after and hour and a half is as good as any other!!!

Holiday weekend over, but been a fine break in a nice hotel with some relax time without the boys. Thanks mum and dad.
This snap is part of the reception of the trendy CitizenM hotel in Glasgow. Well worth a stay if you are planning a visit in Glasgow.

Sunday morning overtime for the the dinosaur driver!!
Very scary how precise the driver was. The machine looks like a prehistoric dinosaur and moves with extreme precision. Every bite of it's 'jaws' sears through concrete and steel re-inforcement with ease, all at 10 storeys height.
How they know that they're not going to topple the building onto the street behind me is beyond me, it was still open to cars and the walking public, wouldn't want to explain that to my insurance!!!

Days are getting longer with enough daylight hours to charge up the solar lights in the garden. Just need some heat to go with it now and we might be able to get the garden chairs out if storage and use the garden.

Team announced and anticipation starting to rise. Few controversial selections and omissions, but I would put money on 3-5 replacement call ups being required once the battles commence.
One month countdown has begun.
