30 June 2013

The days of a pair of black studded adidas boots with the classic 3 white stripes are long gone.

These are the latest pairs in a long line of the brightest blades, astro's or studded boots to don the aspiring Messi/RVP/Ronaldo.......

Falconry display at the Corporate Highland Games today.  Furiously trying to remember the techniques that I learnt last year on a one-day photography course.  Got a couple of stills as well as some in flights ones, helped by the handler spotting me hanging over the ropes with my camera and sending the bird to land on his hand right above my head!!!!  Couldn't decide which picture to post, so you're getting 3 for today.

27 June 2013

Turned into a beautiful afternoon and evening.
Took the opportunity of popping past a spot I have taken photos at before while out on site today for todays post.
Swans were lapping up the sunshine with the occasional bit of fishing, or maybe it was algae?

A+ for today's bombing students. Must have been out for a curry last night. Painted the bonnet nice polka dot white and welded the drivers window with green paste!!!

25 June 2013

Sad fact for the day is that we're exactly 6 months away from christmas 2013, and haven't even had our summer holidays yet.  Where does the time go.

We've still got candy canes in the sweetie jar from last years' tree, whats the odds on them surviving in there to be re-hung on the 2013 tree!!!???

23 June 2013

30miles north of us, but never knew this castle existed until today - Harthill Castle.  Work summer BBQ in the rain.

Apparently the castle is still privately owned and used as a personal residence.  The owner has a personal chef that he takes with him where-ever he goes.  If you can afford a castle, you can afford anything you want!!!!

22 June 2013

Lovely full moon and clear sky last night.

25 years on from the Piper Alpha disaster, the memorial gardens are getting some much deserved TLC.

The bronze statue stands proud looking over the tended lawns and rose beds.

18 June 2013

A quiet and quaint little lane in the Bridge of Don.  Pity the sun wasn't shining to give more life to the luscious green foliage around the river at this time of year.

16 June 2013

First properly nice weather weekend day today, so all the garden chores getting done.  Cars washed, grass cut, borders tidied up, boys had a mud fight!!!, finished up with a soaking of the baskets and tubs that are starting to show signs of summer colours.

15 June 2013

Next competative step on the road to a contract at Old Trafford!! He loved the hat-trick but didn't take a defeat too well.  Hard to suppress the competitive nature - life is competitive, get over it!!

10 June 2013

Primary School Sports day in the sun.
Officially it's not a competative event, but try telling a group of 7 year old boys that winning doesn't matter.  Seems to go against their nature.

09 June 2013

Complex molecular structure, DNA profiling, bio-physics or just the wooden floor 'swiffer'

Think it needs to have a spin in the washing machine after looking at the picture.  Doesn't look as dirty to the naked eye!!

Thanks again for tea.

07 June 2013

Keeping the theme of flowers, the last few days of sunshine has brought out the blooms in the garden.
Pity these bright pink azeleas don't last more than a couple of weeks in full bloom, they certainly brighten up the garden.

06 June 2013

Another sunny weekday when stuck in the office.  Bet it's clouded over with showers by the weekend and don't get to enjoy our short summer weather.

Buttercups reaching for the sun in the long grass is today's' effort.

Very much recommend these for w cold refreshing and thirst quenching drink.

But of snapseed over processing for a change. Will get back to standard photos eventually!!

04 June 2013

Another glorious day in the North East.
Was out and about at lunchtime doing a couple of messages down by the coast, so swung in past the harbour/fittie area for a few snaps with the new camera and some more testing of bracketing shots to get the HDR treatment.  Slowly getting the hang of it, but really need to be using the tripod to get 100% consistency on the 3 shots to merge them with sharper focus.

These two, one of the silver darlings restaurant and one of the new control tower have come out ok.  Just using an online HDR conversion at the moment so the output file is losing resolution, will need to source a software package that will give more options on the edit.

03 June 2013

Lunchtime view from the office window.  Blue skies threatening to turn grey with some showers forecast, but hasn't stopped the office workers utilising the park for a picnic lunch and a few rays of sunshine to cheer the mood for the afternoon's work ahead.

Little touch of HDR editing for the first time ever.  Lots of work to be done to learn the skills and use it to it's full advantage without going over the top with processing.

Wouldn't want to be parking in here without permission.
£20/hour or part thereof would be an expensive bill!

01 June 2013

First day of June and we've had 20degrees glorious sunshine, heavy rain, thunder storms and back to the sunshine later on in the evening.  Hoping that tomorrow is a bit more settled and we can get some things done around the house.

Did catch a weather-slot for the boys to have a dip later this afternoon after all their football, gardening and general messing about in the garden.
